The Family of Sylvanus & Anna Gardner

If YOU have ANY information to ADD or CORRECT, PLEASE DO!

The following is from Pine Knots & Tallow Candles, by Myrtilla Bond Hunt. p.3.
"The ancestors of my paternal grandmother came from England to New York by way of Nantucket Island, where they pioneered for some years, but my grandmother, Ellen Goldsmith, was born in Albany County, New York, the eldest child of Daniel and Annie Gardner Goldsmith. Among her mother's people in Nantucket were the Lyons, Gardners, Coffins, Stantons, Folgers and others of sturdy stock. I do not know just what the relationship was, but grandmother often referred to Mary Lyon as a kinswoman on her mother's side. On her father's side she claimed Oliver Goldsmith as kinsman, and from pictures of Oliver Goldsmith one can readly believe this, for they are very good likenesses of grandmother's two brothers, Joseph and Gardner Goldsmith, whom I very well remember."
