  Last Wednesday Fritz HARMES, brother of one of the members of the firm of HARMES & PALM, chicory dealers, Yolo county, while at work on a ranch in American township, was kicked in the stomach by a horse. His injuries being severe, he was brought to the city and died at the Merchants' Exchange last night.

Cause of Death, --The death of William NICOLAUS, which took place night before last in this city, was caused by rupture of a blood Vessel from overlifting while handling a 15 gallon keg of beer. The injury was received last Friday. The deceased was a young man, and son of Louis NICOLAUS, propietor of Capital Brewery at Twelfth and I streets.

  Henry E. HARMS, a well-known citizen of Yolo, died suddenly yesterday forenoon at his residence in Washington. He has been suffering from dropsy for some time. Deceased was 70 years old and a native of Hanover, Germany. The funeral will take place to-morrow afternoon.

Death of a Leper.
 SACRAMENTO, April 18. - Fritz HARMS, the Yolo leper, who has been quarantined on an island in the overflow, several miles below the town of Washington, died a few days ago and was buried yesterday. His remains were brought to the city of Sacramento. HARMS has been afflicted with the loathsome disease of leprosery for years, and his life was a burden to himself, his relatives and the tax-payers of Yolo.

Robert L. Daly was born Jan. 20, 1865, departed this life Dec. 23, 1894. aged 29 years, 11 months and 3 days. He was united in marriage to Iona BOND who preceded him to the other world. He was again united in marriage to Frantie VEAL May 22, 1886 with whom he lived happily until death separated them. He leaves a wife, three children, father, mother, four brothers, three sisters and a host of friends to mourn his departure. Robert was an honored and respected member of the Masonic order, who paid a last sad tribute to his memory. During all his illness he bore his sufferings from that terrible Bright's disease manfully, often expressing a desire to be released from the sufferings of earth; but when the Divine Maker was ready he took him to join his sister Druza who had gone before.
Funeral services were held at Mt. Zion church Christmas morning by Rev. P. E. Powell and Ira Johnson. Interment was at same place.

A FATAL STROKE
  Death of Karl HARMS Yesterday From Apoplexy. Karl HARMS, one of the best known of Sacramento citizens, died at his residence, 1212 Fifth street, yesterday morning. The deceased was 66 years of age, and had been a resident of Sacramento for twenty-six years. He was stricken with apoplexy last Thursday, while working at Sutter's mill at Thirteenth and J streets, and lingered until yesterday. The deceased leaves a wife and two daughters, Mrs. George WISSEMANN and Mrs. Anna STEEN.

The Cause of the Death of Young Herman NICOLAUS.
  It has been ascertained that the death of Herman NICOLAUS, which occurred on Friday last, was caused by an injury received some days before. While playing baseball he was hit in the abdomen by a swift ball. He did not tell his parents nor the doctor of this, and the latter concluded from the boy's symptoms that it was a case of appendicitis.
  If the youth lived another day an operation would have been performed.
